A message for parents

Dear Parent(s)/Guardian(s),

Greetings! I am Mrs. Martin, and I am your daughter/son’s Spanish teacher. I want to take this opportunity to introduce myself and to let you know that I am pleased and excited to have your child in my class.

I am a native-Spanish speaker from Mexico, and have a Master of Arts in TESOL and a Master of Science in Curriculum and Instruction from Southern Illinois University. I have been a teacher of Spanish, ESL, and elementary education for over twenty years and have successfully taught Spanish to different age groups in the United States, England and Kuwait.

The main goal of my class is to enable students to communicate in Spanish. With this aim in mind, I will provide them with opportunities to learn and practice the language, and I will encourage them to take risks and to not to be afraid of making mistakes. Learning Spanish is easy, but requires dedication and consistency, therefore I ask you to encourage your child to review class material at home and to do their homework. For more details about the course, please refer to the link "Course Descriptions" on the right side of the panel or menu.

Please, feel free to contact me if you have any questions or concerns, communication is the key to success. I look forward to working together to have a great year!

Sincerely,

Mrs. Martin
