After Europe successfully designated and celebrated 2001 as the “Year of languages,” the American Council on the Teaching of Foreign Languages (ACTFL) felt inspired to establish a year of languages in the United States. ACTFL worked with governor sponsors and in February 17 2005, the Senate approved the resolution designating 2005 as “The Year of Languages.”
The goal of “The Year of Languages” was to raise awareness in the United States about the importance of developing proficiency not only in English, but in other languages as well. After a successful year of celebrations, the effort to highlight the benefits of language learning has continued through the campaign “Discover Languages” and February has been designated the “Discover Languages Month”.
The goals of this campaign inform people of the cognitive, academic, social, cultural and economic benefits of language learning. Learn more about the benefits of language learning, and share your language in the Spanish Club meetings of this month.

Pienso que mi viaje a la biblioteca fue muy divertido. Me gusta saber más sobre la biblioteca. Sin embargo, no puede hacer el mapa de la Biblioteca de Primaria tan fácilmente. Hay muchas cosas en que pensar.
